Hindu Pilgrimage Deoghar and science and importance of being disciple of Shiva

Any one who visit Deoghar in between July and August (Sarwan in Hindu calender), may watch devotees coming from Sultanguange (a holy place situated about 125km away from Deoghar). Many of them come by walking 125kms to offer holy Ganga water in pots attached with a stick holding on their shoulders and many devotees cover this distance only by laying and standing on the way without walk. Some devotees determines to cover this distance in 24hrs without taking rest. These are incredible activity or rituals performed by Shiva Bhaktas perhaps without knowing the science behind it. It is said that after performing these tough ritual Lord Shiva fulfills their desires. And it is very surprising that it happens.
I was in Deogher for 1yr in Pokhna Tilla which is 10mins away from Baba Mandir. In the holy month of sawan I used to watch devotees coming to shiva mandir. And suddenly one day I realised the science behind it. I got the shiv bhaktas with a firm determination of completing their journey to mandir to offer their devotion and love to Shiva. In their mind they had nothing but only Shiva and Shiva and they used to stamping this thought harder by chanting bum bhole, jay mahadev, jay shiv sanker. Actually they were completely shiv-maya in their journey.
