In Gita Sri Krishna says - "We are independent of doing wrong or right in this world, but results of deeds will be given by him." And this is the reason wrong and right thing happen in this world. No doubt that Lord shiva should be worshiped as GOD but the results will given at God's will. No body can expect the result and nobody shouldn't. But if you consider the same GOD as GURU(your spiritual teacher), you are in a different way for the following reasons:
1> Since you are disciple of the supreme power, it is His(Guru)whole and sole responsibility to take care of you and to guide you the right way in your difficulties. You just follow whatever is coming in your mind, thinking of whether it is wrong or right, it's your GURU's duty to rectify you. And believe me He rectifies very smartly. I can give you several examples from my life later.
2> You are not forced to abide by religious rules and regulations. What to eat? What to follow? What to do? What to not to do? --- You are free from all questions. Your GURU Shiva will take care of it. If GURU shiva thinks that doing something is wrong for you, he will play a script in your life, where by "self-realization" you will avoid that wrong doing. This is very important to note that now you in "self-realization" mode.
3> You are always positive, because you know that you are guided by your GURU Shiva. And a repetitive positive thoughts bring tremendous energy to you or you can say - "You are the holder of Supreme Conscious Mindful Energy."

I want to share you few of my experiences. Basically I am a Computer Software Engineer, working in Kolkata. And my life revolves round computer programs. In my early life of programming I suddenly used to stuck to a problem when writting a complex programs for computer. I tried hard and hard not succeeded. Then miracle happened accidentally I wrote two or three programming words in program or accidentally I triggered or switched off a setting and program started to work. These events happened in my life several times. I don't know the exact reason but I believe that there is some force around me which helps me when I am in difficult situations or you may say in delima. Perhaps this is due to that I am a shiv shishya.

Spirituality - Orgainsation - Marketing - Making Money
This a very unfortunate incident happening today, that a concept of spiritualism takes birth in a human(saint) mind with a great spiritual effort and research (i.e. dhyana and tapsaya) and then the concept spreads to many devotee who thought the human(saint) as their GURU and gradually it becomes an organization. Then close disciples of that great saint or the dependents of that holy saint take the responsibility to earn money by marketing the spirituality. The business starts by demanding money in the name of organization and the holy saint and thus organization become more and more rich as per as money is concerned simultaneously it becomes home of criminal activities and the people associated with them are being cheated by the higher authority of the organization. The original spiritual concept is lost in between and also the GURU. This a real fact. Please beware of such organizations and GURU.

Aum Namah Shivaya
Aum Namaḥ Shivaya is among the foremost and powerful mantras. Its meaning is "adoration (namas) to Shiva, preceded by the mystical syllable Aum. It is called Panchakshara, or "having five syllables". Shaivite mystics hold that within its celestial tones and hues resides all of the intuitive knowledge of Śaivism. The Aum Namaḥ Shivaya mantra appears for the first time, still without the Aum, in a traditional Vedic prayer to Rudra called Shri Rudram (Rudra is considered an earlier aspect and name of Lord Shiva). In this context, Shiva retains its original meaning as an adjective meaning "auspicious, benign, friendly", a euphemistic epithet of Rudra.
Meaning of Namah Shivaya
Namah Shivaya is the most holy name of God Shiva, noted at the very center of the Vedas.
Na is the Lord's concealing grace, Ma is the world, Shi stands for Shiva, Va is His revealing grace, Ya is the soul. The five elements, too, are embodied in this ancient formula for invocation. Na is earth, Ma is water, Shi is fire, Va is air, and Ya is ether, or Akasha(sky). Namah Shivaya has such power, the mere intonation of these syllables reaps its own reward in salvaging the soul from bondage of the treacherous instinctive mind and the steel bands of a perfected externalized intellect. Namah Shivaya quells the instinct, cuts through the steel bands and turns this intellect within and on itself, to face itself and see its ignorance. Sages declare that mantra is life, that mantra is action, that mantra is love and that the repetition of mantra, japa, bursts forth wisdom from within.
Namah Shivaya is in truth both Agama and Veda. Namah Shivaya represents all mantras and tantras. Namah Shivaya is our souls, our bodies and possessions. Namaḥ Śivāya has become our sure protection."
Namah Shivaya sounds related directly to the principles which govern each of the first six chakras on the spine...Earth, water, fire, air, ether. Notice that this does not refer to the chakras themselves which have a different set of seed sounds, but rather the principles which govern those chakras in their place. A very rough, non-literal translation could be something like, 'Om and salutations to that which I am capable of becoming.' This mantra will start one out on the path of subtle development of spiritual attainments. It is the beginning on the path of Siddha Yoga, or the Yoga of Perfection of the Divine Vehicle."
"Na" refers to the Gross Body (annamayakosa), "Ma" refers to Pranic Body (pranamayakosa), "Shi" or "Chi" refers to Mental Body (manonmayakosa), "Va" refers to Intellectual Body (vignanamayakosa) and "Ya" refers to Blissful Body (anandamayakosa) and "M" or the "silence" beyond these syllables refers to the Soul or Life within.

Shiva Shishya and Cosmic Activities
Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being (Brahman of the Upanishads) that continuously dissolves to recreate in the cyclic process of creation, preservation, dissolution and recreation of the universe and therefore deserves of being guru of all gurus.
Owing to His cosmic activity of dissolution and recreation, the words destroyer and destruction have been erroneously associated with Lord Shiva. This difficulty arises when people fail to grasp the true significance of His cosmic role. The creation sustains itself by a delicate balance between the opposing forces of good and evil. When this balance is disturbed and sustenance of life becomes impossible, Lord Shiva dissolves the universe for creation of the next cycle so that the unliberated souls will have another opportunity to liberate themselves from bondage with the physical world. Thus, Lord Shiva protects the souls from pain and suffering that would be caused by a dysfunctional universe. In analogous cyclic processes, winter is essential for spring to appear and the night is necessary for the morning to follow. To further illustrate, a goldsmith does not destroy gold when he melts old irreparable golden jewelry to create beautiful new ornaments.
Lord Shiva is the Lord of mercy and compassion. He protects devotees from evil forces such as lust, greed, and anger. He grants boons, bestows grace and awakens wisdom in His devotees.
Since a disciple holds the power and quality of his/her Guru or teacher. Being disciple of Shiva, the disciple also holds the power to control cosmic activities.
